Fodor's Expert Review Dos Palillos
After 10 years as the chief cook and favored disciple of pioneering chef Ferran Adrià, Albert Raurich opened this outstanding Asian-fusion restaurant with an eclectic assortment of tastes and textures. Past the typical Spanish bar in the front room, the Japanese dining room inside is a canvas of rich black surfaces bordered with red chairs. These surround the kitchen, with its international staff of cooks. Islands of yamaimo and ossetra caviar floating in golden pools of dashi, dim sum, narezushi, and red curry coconuts, and gin-and-chocolate filled ningyo yaki doughnuts vie for space on the €90 and €110 tasting menus. Set lunch menus (€45) are also available.
