Fodor's Expert Review Taberna Sociedad de Plateros
On a narrow side street just steps away from the Plaza del Potro, this delightful spot dates to the 17th century. One of the city's most historic inns, it has a large patio that adjoins a traditional marble bar where locals meet. Photographs of iconic local bullfighter Manolete line the walls, and the patio is decorated with giddily patterned tiles and bricks plus a giant flat-screen television, usually screening soccer or bullfights. The food is solid home-style cooking, with choices including fried green peppers, tortilla de patatas, fried eggplant, and hearty rabo de toro. Choose from tapas (from €2.50) or full portions.
