A friendly, family-run tavern in the village of Lokev is about 4 km (2 miles) from the Lipica stud farm. This is a great place to try traditional dishes and wine from the Karst region; a good starter is jota (bean and sauerkraut soup) followed by slow-roasted pork and a green salad topped with a spoonful of beans.
