Fodor's Review

On Loch Dunvegan, this old building with thick stone walls holds a restaurant that has become a top destination for serious foodies. The kitchen serves consistently daring, well-crafted food, and the chef's belief in Scottish ingredients is clear in what is on offer: Glendale salad leaves, West Coast fruits de mer, and Mallaig monkfish, for example. Dinner is a five-course fixed-price extravaganza (£65); lunch is three courses for £37, with the same array of local products. Reservations are essential; book well ahead and reconfirm the day before. There are six luxurious (and pricey) guest rooms at the nearby House Over-By.
