Fodor's Expert Review The Taybank
This lovely spot overlooking the River Tay is a musical meeting place once owned by Scottish singer and composer Dougie MacLean. It serves unpretentious but plentiful traditional pub food, like haggis, Cullen skink (fish soup), and stovies (a beef-and-potato dish) in the friendly, rough-and-ready bar. There's also a beer garden, where you can sip your ale outside by the river. A cheese or charcuterie platter with a bottle of house wine costs just £30. There's live music several nights a week, and the walls are lined with instruments that you're welcome to play.
