Solway Firth

Mostly undiscovered by travelers, the Solway Firth is a must for walkers, cyclists, and bird-watchers. This lovely and protected inlet, guarded by beautiful Caerlaverock Castle, is a haven for a great variety of seabirds. You can see them at the nature reserve behind the castle. Cycling or on foot, you can stroll gentle coastal paths beside the firth that link the villages of Sandyhills, Rockcliffe, and Kippford.
