Directly across from the train station, this handsome sandstone guesthouse sits on a leafy street in a quiet part of town. It's an old-fashioned guest house, with the owners very much hands on. It is more than just a place to sleep, and there areverycomplimentary chocolates and a dram of single-malt whisky in every room. The proprietors host events such as local "kilted" historic pub tours. You'll get a good taste of local culture here, and the breakfast isn't bad, either.
