Irvine

Beyond Irvine's cobbled streets and grand Victorian buildings, look for a peaceful crescent-shaped harbor and fishermen's cottages huddled in solidarity against the Atlantic winds. The Scottish Maritime Museum pays homage to the town's seafaring past. Scotland's national poet, Robert Burns, lived here in 1781.
