Fodor's Expert Review Howies

$ Old Town British
The Victoria Street branch of this bistro chain is a good choice for contemporary Scottish fare, with lots of fresh local produce. Alongside the daily specials and quality Scottish steaks and salmon, there are some nicely inventive vegetarian options. Service is friendly, and the decor includes dark-wood furnishings and warm colors; it's understated and informal. Best of all, it's good value—you can get a set-price three-course lunch for £15. There's a grander New Town branch at 29 Waterloo Place.
