Fodor's Review

Paul Kitching is one of Britain's most innovative chefs, and the theatrical dining experience at 21212 delivers surprises galore. Set within a Georgian town house, the Michelin-starred restaurant is sumptuously appointed; the Belle Époque decor and quirky crockery make this a perfect destination for couples (who should ask for a romantic alcove window table). On display behind a large glass screen is a small army of chefs assembling the intricate dishes, while knowledgeable and attentive waitstaff help you decode the enigmatic descriptions of dishes on the menu. The prix-fixe five-course menu (£85) allows you to choose from three starters, three mains, and three desserts, with a soup course and a sublime cheese course sandwiched in between—plus amuse-bouches, petit fours, and other bite-size delights. If you want to make the 21212 experience last even longer, book a night in one of the four elegant bedrooms upstairs; breakfast included.
