Fodor's Expert Review The Islay Hotel

This charming hotel overlooking Port Ellen's harbor has large, bright rooms decorated in muted contemporary colors. Beds are big and comfortable, and many rooms look out across the harbor bay. The restaurant serves adventurous cuisine such as monkfish tail with aioli fennel and baked squash, and the same menu is available in the comfortable downstairs bar. As would be expected, local fish dominates the menu, with langoustines and oysters as regulars.
