Fodor's Review

Editor's Note: This property is currently undergoing renovations.

Now a museum portraying civic life, the restored house has furnished period rooms and a painted chapel. Steeply gabled and built from rubble, it dates in part from 1545. The house was originally a mayor's domestic dwelling (provost is Scottish for "mayor"). Its costume gallery displays colorful exhibitions of fashions from different centuries.
