Fodor's Expert Review Casa d'Armas
This cozy, romantic restaurant is in a renovated mansion near the fishing docks. Seafood is the main reason to come here, starting with fish soup and going on with main dishes such as sapateira recheada (stuffed crab), polvo com azeite e alho (octopus with olive oil and garlic), and arroz de tamboril (monkfish rice). But the menu also has several grilled meat dishes as well as picanha (tender salted and grilled Brazilian beef) and arroz de pato (duck rice). The house bacalhau is rather unusual: it's fried and stuffed with bacon. There's also a comprehensive list of regional wines.
