Fodor's Expert Review Buxa
On one of Guimarães's most scenic squares, this handsome eatery across from the Museu de Alberto Sampaio has tables in a wood-paneled dining room and beneath the arches of a cobbled courtyard. Portuguese specialties include bacalhau baked with corn bread, beef mirandesa (stewed with garlic and then grilled—a specialty from the northern city of Miranda do Douro), and grilled porco preto (cured ham).
