Fodor's Expert Review Cervejaria Trindade
The colorful azulejo wall tiles and vaulted ceiling of this former monastery hint at its long history, and it's popular with locals and tourists alike. A homey bar at the entrance will quench your thirst as you wait—you can also just come here for a drink and some pataniscas (tasty cod fritters). Seafood feasts include crayfish, lobster, crab, and tiger prawns. You might start with ameijoas à Bulhão Pato (clams in a garlic-butter-and-cilantro sauce) before moving on to bife de vazia à Trindade (steak with a choice of three sauces) or bacalhau à Santo Ofício (baked cod with olive oil). It all tastes great with the house wine.
