Fodor's Expert Review Casa dos Passarinhosdos
This traditional restaurant has been welcoming diners since 1923 and is not only efficient and friendly, but serves delicious food at extremely fair prices. At lunch, workers from the nearby Amoreiras office complex and mall come for the house specialties, which include a famous naco na pedra (steak cooked on a hot stone), vitela barrosã (tender veal from the north), grilled fish, and açorda de gambas. In the evening, Casa dos Passarinhos draws mainly locals, from its own solidly middle-class Campo de Ourique neighborhood and farther afield. The two dining rooms are decorated in appropriately rustic style.
