Fodor's Review

When Rotterdam's new indoor market opened in 2014, it instantly became the talk of the town. The giant archlike structure houses 228 apartments in its "shell," and provides a roof for more than 100 permanent food stalls. But the real star is the breathtaking interior—in particular the vast mural of colorful insects, fruit, flowers, and vegetables that fills the curving walls and ceiling. Named Hoorn des Overvloeds (Horn of Plenty), it's the work of Dutch artist Arno Coenen. Originally created in 4,000 separate pieces before being transferred to its current home, it covers an area of 120,000 square feet and has reasonable claim to being the world's largest painting.
