This family-run hotel holds more than a few surprises, including a huge green space to its rear complete with outdoor pool (closed in winter), putting green, and views over the neighboring vineyard. The covered terrace restaurant and bar offer wine tastings and there's even a sauna and gym area to work off all that booze. The rooms upstairs are quiet and comfortable and come with balconies. Be sure to try and get one to the rear, which overlooks the garden.

  • the front is on a rather busy road
  • you're not near any of the better-equipped towns or villages
  • you really need a car to get here
