Set on the edge of a quiet residential area but within easy reach of the train station and the center, this pleasant hotel makes the most of its small setting. Recently refurbished rooms are clean and sleek, while the tapas bar is all bookshelves and modern art, It also hosts the odd live jazz band. The four buildings that make up the hotel surround a central courtyard and charming patio terrace, where breakfast is served in the summer. They also rent a pair of studios for longer stays.

CONS

  • the area isn't the most charming in the city
  • rooms are simple affairs
