Via S. Giustina 48, Lucca, Tuscany, 55100, Italy
The building, dating from the 12th century, has been restructured to create the ease common to Lucchesi nobility: timbered ceilings, warm yellow walls, and brocaded chairs adorn the public rooms, and guest rooms have high ceilings and that same glorious damask. Top-floor suites have sweeping views of the town. One suite is on the mezzanine floor, but also has city views.
- intimate feel
- gracious staff
- bacon and eggs included in the buffet breakfast
- a short walk from San Michele in Foro
- some Fodor's readers complain of too-thin walls
