Fodor's Review

Editor's Note: This property is currently undergoing renovations.

The allure here is two-fold: a magnificent setting–-a pair of enclosed piazze with ivy-covered walls, nestled by the Roman Forum and Campidoglio–-and excellent renditions of refined Roman cuisine, including Roman Jewish fare and excellent seafood. In spring and summer there's a lovely outdoor dining deck, and in cooler months, the bright rooms decorated with contemporary art offer pleasant surroundings. In addition to the classic fried artichokes, standouts on the menu include ravioli con cipolla di Tropea (filled with red onion and tossed in balsamic vinegar), and turbot, adorned with perfectly roasted potatoes. Everything down to the last bite (make your dessert choice the chocolate medley) is a pleasure, even if it's not inexpensive. An adjacent caffè is open at breakfast and lunch.
