Fodor's Expert Review Tiziano
Campo Vittorio Emanuele II 110, Rome, Latium, 00186, Italy
Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.
With Campo de' Fiori, Piazza Navona, and the Pantheon all at your doorstep, this 18th-century hotel in a former palace—the once-grand Palazzo Pacelli—makes an ideal base from which to explore. Hotel Tiziano is located smack-dab in the middle of everything: shops, restaurants, transportation, and all the major sights. Rooms have parquet floors or wall-to-wall carpeting, French windows, and bold color schemes; those on the second floor have some of the loftiest ceilings in Rome. If you're lucky (or ask nicely when booking!), you'll land a room with a balcony overlooking church cupolas.
PROS
- a very "European" feel
- excellent value and location
- Wi-Fi is free and fast
CONS
- some rooms are noisy especially when university groups visit
- single rooms the size of a closet
- decor could use an update
