Blink and you may miss this circa-1920 hotel—a favorite of budget travelers—on a quiet, narrow street leading from the top corner of the Roman Forum to Ayios Dimitrios church. But don't blink because although the recently refurbished rooms are still pretty undistinguished, the prices are reasonable, and the location is great, neatly located equidistant between the old Turkish Quarter and the city center. The bathrooms can be tiny, but front rooms have balconies and views of the ancient ruins of the Roman agora. The decor, though somewhat basic, was updated in 2018, but there's no elevator in this three-story building.
