This family-run business has dispensed fine wines, ouzo, and other spirits since 1869 and offers tastings and a great deal of knowledge about local vineyards. Karonis also has a distillery on the outskirts of the Old Town.

Komboloi Museum Shop

A shop on the ground floor of this museum in an old home sells antique and new worry beads and attractive beaded key chains. The museum's exhibits of historic worry beads are fascinating and provide a little insight into the national male pastime of fiddling with a string of them.

Monastery of Aghios Konstantinos & Agia Eleni

Built in the late 18th century, this functioning nunnery houses a fraction of the 80 sisters that once lived here, but its residents are still known for their exquisite silk weaving. Silk scarves and table linens are for sale in a shop just inside the entrance; ask to step into the tranquil cloister while you're there.
