Fodor's Expert Review Hotel Omiros
Omirou Metamorfosi 43, Ermoupoli, Syros, 84100, Greece
Perched on a steep hill just above Miaoúli Square, Omiros is set in a yellow-stucco neoclassical mansion that's a welcoming place to experience both modern comforts and old Syros. The lobby’s two handsome sitting rooms are a popular place to relax; the one preferred in winter looks like a whitewashed farmhouse living room, complete with sculpted Cycladic fireplace and rough stonework walls. A spiral staircase leads up to the guest rooms, many of which are adorned with furniture and marble decorations from the 19th century (some have balconies). The name of the hotel is the translation of the famous Greek poet's name, Homer. The hotel is located up the street from the Metamorphosis church. Breakfast is extra and served in a dining area.Wi-Fi is available in common areas.
