At this writing, the theater was under extensive renovation, but expected to be finished for the 2016/2017 season. The romantic art nouveau Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz has a variety of performances including opera, ballet, and musicals. Tickets can be purchased at the theater on weekdays 10–6, Saturday until 1 pm, or at Zentraler Kartenvorverkauf in Marienplatz, and Karlsplatz (Stachus).
