The steeply gabled Renaissance exterior of the "Golden Sun" fronts a hotel of great charm and comfort. It stands in the center of town, near all the sights. Its dining options are a paneled, beamed restaurant; a vaulted cellar; and a courtyard beer garden, where the service is friendly and helpful, as indeed it is throughout the hotel.

Rooms are classic and comfortable, with light tones and warm curtains, although they are not overly large.
Room 309 has a cute view of the rooftops and steeple of the nearby church.

The restaurant's menu follows the seasons and toes the "quintessential Bavarian" line, with pork roast, steamed or smoked trout with horseradish, white asparagus in spring (usually accompanied by potatoes and ham), and venison in the fall.

A charming and authentically Bavarian spot in a pleasant town, right at the heart of the action for the Landshut Wedding and a great jumping off point for further exploring the area at any time of the year. The restaurant is very traditional, and all the better for it.
