Fodor's Review

The city council meets here to decide the official size and weight of the Nürnberg bratwursts, so this should be your first stop to try the ubiquitous Nürnberg delicacy. The sausages have to be small enough to fit through a medieval keyhole, which in earlier days enabled pub owners to sell them after hours. It's a fitting venue for such a decision, given that this house, built in 1375, holds the oldest bratwurst restaurant in the world. The famous Nürnberg bratwursts are always freshly roasted on a beech-wood fire. Saure Zipfel, the boiled variation, is prepared in a tasty stock of Franconian wine and onions.
