Late-Night Transportation

If you plan on staying out late, just know that after 1 am on a weeknight (Sunday–Thursday), Berlin’s U-bahn and S-bahn trains shut down. To get back to where you're staying, you'll have to catch one of the 24-hour Metrotrams or a night bus (designated by "N" before the number, which often corresponds to the subway line it replaces). These buses come infrequently (every 30 minutes) and often don’t stop directly at a station entrance, so be prepared to do some searching. On Friday and Saturday nights all subway lines (except U4 and U55) run every 15 to 20 minutes throughout the night.
