Fodor's Review

When you see it for the first time, it can be hard to believe: just steps away from one of Wedding’s busiest shopping stretches, Dracula’s castle looms, with multiple pointy turrets, gables, and elaborate stone work. Although this imposing neo-Gothic structure was purportedly inspired by a real castle, the Albrechtsburg in the town of Meissen, it is actually the Wedding Amtsgericht or district courthouse, and the centerpiece of the lovely, leafy, and quite unexpected Brunnenplatz. After decades of unrealized development plans, Brunnenplatz was finally made into a local park in the 1980s, with mosaics, ornamental flower beds, and a central fountain.
