Fodor's Expert Review Thai Park

Every weekend in decent weather, the main lawn at Wilmersdorf park fills up with Southeast Asian families (mostly Thai, but some Vietnamese, Malaysian, and Indonesian) who set up cooking equipment and prepare authentic delicacies like fresh bowls of beef noodle soup, skewered fried meat, and spicy green-papaya salad. Come with a picnic blanket and a lot of napkins, and stay for the afternoon. A wander through the weekend flea market at the entrance to the Fehrbelliner Platz U-bahn station is a good way to work up an appetite. There are no set dates and times but you'll usually find a large gathering on sunny weekend lunch times.
