Fodor's Choice
It was only a matter of time before someone connected to Spain’s legendary el Bulli came to Berlin. Enter Catalan chef Paco Pérez, offering an “experience” menu of 25 to 30 courses that unfolds over a leisurely two and a half to three hours. Dishes are what you'd expect from a disciple of Ferran Adrià–-i.e., expect the unexpected. The food is colorful and playful, highlighting the maximum flavor of each ingredient, and containing some fun surprises. It truly is an experience. The contemporary interior stands in stark contrast to Berlin’s vintage-obsessed establishments: walls mix slick tile with dark wood, and the ceiling is hung with a jumble of bronze pots, pans, and jugs. You can also order à la carte. Note that Casual by Paco Pérez, next door, offers a less expensive sampling of Pérez’s food; it's open for all three meals.
