Why We Like It
This boutique gem has plenty of character and charm, with a great location in central Mitte that puts you within walking distance of many of the major city attractions, including Museum Island. The cozy lounge, seasonal rooftop terrace and leafy courtyard are welcoming spots to relax after a long day of sightseeing.
This hotel off Hackescher Markt offers a central location, scenic views of the Berlin Cathedral, affordable rooms, and proximity to top sites like Museum Island. The roomy lobby is welcoming and although the rooms are quite small, they are well outfitted, with plush bedding and vintage-style European furnishings. The seasonal roof terrace is an ideal spot to lounge in the summer months, as is the pretty courtyard.

While none of the rooms is particularly large—the single rooms measure just 118 square feet—they are all thoughtfully decorated, with wood floors, vintage furnishings. All features supremely comfortable beds, desks, flat-screen TVs and soundproofed doors. Some have views of the Berlin Cathedral and Museum Island.
YOU SHOULD KNOW The front rooms face a busy street so ask for one at the back if you are seeking a quieter stay.

Set in the heart of Mitte across from pretty Monbijou park, the hotel is across the street from Hackescher Markt S-Bahn station.
Restaurants
With just 20 seats and a reputation for serving fine (and affordable) French tasting menus, Bandol Sur Mer (13-minute walk) is a popular spot, so be sure to make a reservation. Hackescher Hof (5-minute walk) serves authentic German cuisine in a historic, wood-paneled room with high, coffered ceilings. Pauly Saal (9-minute walk), tucked inside a former Jewish girls’ school, features striking art deco surroundings and excellent modern German cuisine.
