A comfortable cross between apartment rental and hotel, ÏMA's aim is to throw its guests into the fray of Kreuzberg's hectic, artistic, multicultural scene. The loft apartments take up only one corner of this old brick factory complex; the rest of the buildings in the courtyard are live-work spaces for local and international artists—everyone from dancers and photographers to painters and graphic designers. Rooms are fairly basic in design, but large and light-filled. The café on the ground floor serves vegetarian dishes like the Middle Eastern tomato stew shakshuka.

Rooms range from the small "standard lofts," with beds up a narrow flight of stairs, to large "loft suites," with full kitchens and separate living and sleeping areas. There are TVs and free Wi-Fi in all rooms

The building is in the heart of hip Kreutzberg, and a 5-minute walk to Prinzenstraße U-Bahn station.

The century-plus-old Die Henne (10-minute walk) is famous for its broiled chicken and impressive selection of schnapps; don’t miss sitting under the linden trees in the beer garden during the warmer months. Considered one of the best spots for Wiener schnitzel in the city, the charming, green-walled Jolesch (21-minute walk) also serves seasonal specialties like white asparagus in spring.
