LOCATION

Getting Around

The Weinmeisterstraße U-Bahn station is next door to the hotel.

Restaurants

Tourists, local artists and intellectuals mix at Hackescher Hof (4-minute walk), which serves authentic German cuisine in a historic, wood-paneled room with high, coffered ceilings. Pauly Saal (9-minute walk), tucked inside a former Jewish girls’ school, features striking art deco surroundings and excellent modern German cuisine. Set in a renovated 19th-century brick building in the courtyards of Heckmann Höfe, Night Kitchen (12-minute walk) excels in using locally sourced ingredients.

Bars

Café Cinema (3-minute walk), in the Hackescher area, is a warm, inviting spot to grab a wine, beer or coffee. Hidden at the end of a graffiti-covered courtyard, the dimly lit Eschschloraque (4-minute walk), is an atmospheric throwback to East Berlin, with cheap drinks and loud music.

WHY WE LIKE IT

Simple and stylish, this boutique hotel may not offer much in the way of amenities, but its location, in the heart of Mitte, can’t be beat. The 24-hour lounge with an unlimited free selection of food and drink is also a nice perk.
