This boutique hotel offers a convenient location in the heart of Mitte, with spacious rooms and plenty of perks. The retro minimalist decor, in keeping with the aesthetic of the parent company Camper Shoes, includes red accents and lots of natural light; rooms are stocked with Camper slippers to use during your stay. The sixth-floor 24-hour lounge offers salads, sandwiches, and drinks, and also serves breakfast, all included in the room rate. There is also a fitness center and sauna.
Airy, spacious rooms feature a modern, bold design with bright red and warm blonde wood. Top-floor rooms have excellent city views. All rooms sport cool Camper-brand robes and slippers.
Spacious bathrooms have excellent lighting and good-sized showers.
The small lobby is solely for check-in; the sixth-floor lounge, Tentempie, is where guests hang out, with comfy leather club chairs and excellent city views.
The Weinmeisterstraße U-Bahn station is next door to the hotel.
Tourists, local artists and intellectuals mix at Hackescher Hof (4-minute walk), which serves authentic German cuisine in a historic, wood-paneled room with high, coffered ceilings. Pauly Saal (9-minute walk), tucked inside a former Jewish girls’ school, features striking art deco surroundings and excellent modern German cuisine. Set in a renovated 19th-century brick building in the courtyards of Heckmann Höfe, Night Kitchen (12-minute walk) excels in using locally sourced ingredients.
Café Cinema (3-minute walk), in the Hackescher area, is a warm, inviting spot to grab a wine, beer or coffee. Hidden at the end of a graffiti-covered courtyard, the dimly lit Eschschloraque (4-minute walk), is an atmospheric throwback to East Berlin, with cheap drinks and loud music.
WHY WE LIKE IT
Simple and stylish, this boutique hotel may not offer much in the way of amenities, but its location, in the heart of Mitte, can’t be beat. The 24-hour lounge with an unlimited free selection of food and drink is also a nice perk.
