In the center of Prades, this is a genuine French bistro with husband-and-wife team Veronique and Gilles serving up a seasonal menu in a dining room that's cozy and eclectic, recalling a bygone era when all French bistros were personal and real. Veronique is a dynamic host while Gilles' domain is the kitchen, where he turns out rustic (rather than refined) delights like cerf (deer) in a Banyuls (wine vinegar) sauce or guinea-fowl with a Byrrh au figue (red wine, tonic water, and fig) reduction. The cheaper prix fixe lunch menu is meant to be enjoyed within an hour. Be prepared to dine on the dish of the day as choices are few (and so are seats, so try to reserve ahead).
