Fodor's Expert Review Le Chaudron
Just off Cassis's picturesque port, locals and visitors alike flock to this welcoming bistro and terrace serving classic Provençal meals on one of the town's charming backstreets. Family-run since 1970, the owners have had plenty of time to perfect their game, and it shows. This being Cassis, fish is a mainstay on the menu; start with gratin of mussels followed by roasted John Dory with Provençal vegetables, or spicy fish soup, all to be savored with the local Cassis wines. The set menus (€26 and $35) offer generous portions, but you can also order à la carte.
