Fodor's Expert Review Le Chaudron
Editor's Note: This location is reported to be under new ownership and therefore this review may contain inaccuracies.
Just off Cassis's picturesque port, locals and visitors alike flock to this off-the-beaten-tourist path and welcoming bistro and terrace serving classic Provençal meals on one of the town's charming backstreets. This being Cassis, fish is a mainstay on the menu; start with gratin of mussels followed by roasted John Dory with Provençal vegetables, or spicy fish soup, all to be savored with the local Cassis wines. The set menus (€27 and $37) offer generous portions, but you can also order à la carte.
