Fodor's Expert Review St-Christophe
2 av. Victor-Hugo, Aix-en-Provence, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, 13100, France
With so few midprice hôtels de charme in Aix, you might as well opt for this glossy Art Deco–style hotel, where the comfort and services are remarkable for the price. The Roaring Twenties look dates from 1994, but the Cézannesque murals, burled-wood curves, and Constructivist leather chairs carry you back to the Jazz Age. Rooms are slickly done in deep jewel tones, and the top-floor rooms have artisanal tiles in the bathrooms. For a pittance more, you can have a junior suite with a sleeping loft with views out over the central plaza or a deluxe room with your very own hammam.
- price–service ratio
- chain-hotel feel
- interior design lacks charm
