A family-run jewel, this eclectic, rather eccentric hotel features rooms with different decorative themes, from delicate, rather austere Japanese to playful Dutch to colorful Moroccan. It was the first hotel in Marseille to install baths in the 1960s, and, yes, the originals are still here—charming but very small. Almost every room has a stunning sea view. The nights are very quiet, and the service is excellent.

- rooms could do with a freshening up
- some rooms are quite small
- lots of steps and no elevator
