Fodor's Expert Review Parc Zoologique de Paris

Eastern Paris Zoo/Aquarium

The 35-acre zoo in the Bois de Vincennes is France's largest and, thanks to a major renovation, it now promises a more hands-on experience. This facility's 1,000 or so animals are housed in cleverly designed environments (aka "biozones") that mix species as Mother Nature intended: these include a free-range aviary you can walk through and a greenhouse that re-creates a slice of the rain forest. For kids, admission is less: €15 for ages 3–12.
