Fodor's Expert Review Le Melting Pot
For a market-fresh, lovingly prepared, excellent-value meal, this unpretentious canteen close to the harbor's edge is the best bet in town. The traditional chalkboard menu lists the specials of the day, which always include several meat and seafood dishes—lamb curry, classic cassoulet, beef goulash, sautéed calamari in coconut milk—that come with a hefty portion of fresh vegetables on the side. Though based in French technique, the chef likes to mine Indian, Vietnamese, and Thai cuisines for their rich flavors. Desserts like moelleux au chocolate (molten-chocolate cake) are exceptionally good, and at €4.20 a shot, who are we to say no?
