Fodor's Expert Review L'Auberge Napoléon
Frédéric Caby's culinary haven in a meticulously restored town house—once inhabited by Napoléon Bonaparte himself—is where chef Agnès Chotin, one of France's top cuisinières (female chefs), puts together the best table in Grenoble. She specializes in dishes unique to the region, ranging from daube de sanglier en aumonière croustillante (wild boar stewed in port wine with lemon crust) to crème de potiron (cream of squash soup); and proposes a foie gras menu that is nearly as wicked and wonderful as her regional cru chocolate dessert.
