This convivial little restaurant in the center of Épernay serves authentic regional dishes with a refined twist at reasonable prices. Chef Bernard Ocio executes a perfect marriage of flavors by highlighting the local wines; classics include grilled oysters accompanied by leeks with Champagne butter, rump steak served with a Pinot Noir sauce, duck cooked with grapes and Verjus, and the quintessential potée à la champenoise (a simmered meat and vegetable stew). There are also more rustic choices for the daring, such as snails in parsley butter and tête de veau (calf's head). The desserts hold no surprises, so expect to see old favorites like profiteroles and crème brûlée. Reservations are essential on weekends.
