Renowned chef and food campaigner Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall has set up an outpost of his culinary chain in the old naval depot in Plymouth's newly fashionable Stonehouse neighborhood. The menu offers tapas-size dishes, such as gravad max with rye breadcrumbs and grilled radicchio with buffalo mozzarella, and mains that might include roast gurnard with Jerusalem artichokes or venison ragu. Sit indoors in the buzzy, open-plan dining area, or at tables outside where you can take in views over a yacht marina and across to wooded slopes. From the deli counter, you can choose from an enticing range of locally produced ham, bread, pasties, cheese, cider, and wine.
