By far the prettiest way to approach Bodiam Castle is on a 45-minute river cruise through Sussex countryside. Boats leave from the riverbank by the old stone road bridge on the outskirts of Newenden (it's easy to find—the village is minuscule). When in operation, sailing times from Boating Station are at 10:30, 12:45, and 3; return sailings from Bodiam Castle are one hour later.
