Burwash
Historic Home
Rudyard Kipling lived from 1902 to 1936 at this beautiful 17th-century house a half mile south of the village. The house has been kept much as it was when Kipling was alive (including his 1920s Rolls-Royce parked in the grounds). In the garden, a water mill still grinds flour (you can see it in action most Wednesdays and Saturdays at 2 pm).
