Fodor's Expert Review The Mount Edgcumbe
One of the main attractions of this casual town-center restaurant serving traditional English cuisine is that it's in an 8th-century cave; however, since it's carved out of the limestone foundation of the Mount Edgcumbe Hotel, it's a pretty nice cave. The all-day menu, which changes monthly, may include dishes such as sesame, ginger, and honey-glazed salmon with purple-sprouting broccoli, or local lamb shank with mustard mashed potato. The bar has a good selection of cask ales and lagers.
