Fodor's Expert Review Norfolk Arms Hotel

22 High St., Arundel, West Sussex, BN18 9AD, England

Like the cathedral and the castle in Arundel, this 18th-century coaching inn on the main street was built by one of the dukes of Norfolk. Some rooms are small (the hotel dubs them "cozy"), but those in an annex in the courtyard block are larger and more modern. Many are decorated in a country-house style.

PROS

  • charming building
  • historic setting
  • friendly staff

CONS

  • older rooms on the small side
  • a little old-fashioned
  • bold decor choice in some of the bathrooms
