Fodor's Expert Review The Tower

More of a "restaurant with rooms" than a guesthouse, this charming place around the corner from Alnwick Castle is a great find. The building's original Victorian shop front has been beautifully restored; inside, however, it's a thoroughly modern operation. Cozy bedrooms are somewhat basic, decorated in pastel tones with crisp white fabrics. The family room is much bigger, and good value. The restaurant serves simple but tasty comfort food, such as fish-and-chips, steaks, and pies.
