Up the hill from the town center, this friendly and economical B&B lives up to its name, with balconies gazing out onto the high fells. The building dates from the 1920s but the interiors are contemporary and spacious. The guest rooms are immaculately designed in natural tones and have good-quality bedding, as well as gleaming bathrooms. The owners are themselves keen walkers and can give good advice on the best routes.
